Under the newly renovated Honorio Lopez Bridge in Gagalangin, Tondo, rows of makeshift rooms make up a secret sex den where girls aged 12 to 17 were having sex with customers for P500.

Their pimp was a man named Sanny Ramos, 26. Ramos was reportedly offering the girls to truck, tricycle drivers, and pier workers, according to an Inquirer report.

“His clients also included workers from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority,” said Aldrin Tamboon, an operative of the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (Iacat).

Operated by Coercion

Out of the seven girls who worked for him, five were rescued by the Manila Police District’s Anti-Human Trafficking Division.

These young girls were mostly out-of-school youths and street kids whom Ramos befriended and lured into his operation.

“He would order the seven of us to go with his male clients who wanted sex. Sometimes, he would even ask [us] to use ‘shabu’ (methamphetamine hydrochloride)” or solvent, she revealed.

It was also discovered that Ramos would deduct P150 from the girls’ P500 fee to keep for himself. And if there were no customers, Ramos would sometimes have sex with the young girls.

Inquirer discovered that the existence of the year-old underage prostitution den had been an open secret in Gagalangin, Tondo.

Though barangay officials tried to intervene, whenever they would try to stop him, Ramos would threaten them or throw bottles at them.
