What are good, easy hiking trails for those who are just starting out?

There are a lot of relatively easy hikes that are perfect for kids as well as beginners, so you don't have to worry about straining yourself too much. Here are some of those trails:

  1. Gulugud Baboy in Anilao - Gulugud Baboy in Anilao, Batangas, is perfect for young hikers since it's a very quick hike, and you get to have an amazing view of the sea. Getting there is also relatively easy since a road has been built to gain quicker access to the trail.
  2. Manabu Peak - Also in Batangas, Manabu Peak boasts a great view, amazing scenery, as well as an easy hike. It's a great trail to get anyone started!
  3. Mt. Makiling - Mt. Makiling in Laguna is a classic trail that's very popular among hikers, and it's also very easy for kids. However, be sure to take a guide with you if you're not familiar with the trail, as you can end up in Calamba or Batangas if you go the wrong way.

Any tips?

Safety should be a number one concern when hiking, so be sure that you and your kids have helmets, proper climbing shoes and clothes, as well as a guide. Maps are also handy, as well as food, cellphones, a powerbank, and a compass.
