Teacher that slapped 4 of his students now facing child abuse charges

Gilbert Almeda, a teacher from Aglipay, Quirino was caught on video seen slapping 4 of his students, is now facing child abuse charges as a result of his actions.

They were inside an empty classroom when the incident happened

According to the students, they were singing inside an empty classroom and taking a cellphone video when their teacher suddenly walked in and promptly asked them if they had a class. One of the students tried to answer, but he was promptly slapped by the teacher. He then proceeded to slap all of the students, which was caught on video.

The students added that when they got to his class, he hit them once again.

According to the students, they were late for a class so they decided to skip their class instead. They add that the teacher should not have hit them but instead should have taken them to the guidance counselor.

He will also be facing administrative charges alongside child abuse charges

Based on the video that the students caught, child abuse charges will be filed against the teacher. The cellphone video served as crucial evidence according to S/Insp. Erwin Ladia, Aglipay Police Chief.

One of the parents of the students said that they won’t be able to forgive the teacher for his actions.

Aside from the child abuse charges, the teacher will also be facing administrative cases as a result of the incident.

Meanwhile, the teacher has yet to provide a statement regarding the incident.
