Dear fellow mom, thank you for not judging me

The Momma Club is a community and online resource about all things MOM. They are a storytelling platform inspiring moms to live a happy life. They aim to spread good vibes and to simply share motherhood stories and snippets of their journey to fellow moms. The Momma Club (or TMC) was founded by Jay de Guzman-Yasona and Louise de Guzman in 2017 to gather and connect the moms in their hometown.

To the mom at the nearby table, thank you for not giving me that “look” when you saw my child watching the iPad while I ate my meal.

Thank you, eating in peace is such a rare occurrence for this momma.

To the mom who saw me feed my child some sweet treats, thank you for not rolling your eyes. Don’t worry, I made her drink a lot of water.

To the mom who saw my child acting out while her own child was behaving really nice, thank you for not looking at me condescendingly.

To the mom who looked made up and put together, thank you for not looking at me like I needed a shower (confession, I really did), a shampoo, a blow dry, or maybe a complete makeover.

To the mom who witnessed me unsuccessfully manage my child’s tantrum, thank you for not giving me the side-eye.

To the mom who heard me shout at my kid, thank you for not shaming me.  Thank you for your kind understanding during my bad parenting day.

To the mom whose child was potty trained since 1 year old, thank you for not shaming me when you found out my kid still wears nappies at three.

To the mom who did not think I was a bad mom when I said I sometimes miss my old life, thank you for not thinking I did not love my children any less.

To the mom whose family values are not in sync with ours, thank you for not showing your disappointment.

To the mom who noticed me checking my phone occasionally, thank you for not shaking your head disapprovingly.

To the mom who listened while I raved about my child, thank you very much! I didn’t mean to brag, I just felt proud of my child.

To the mom who saw me cry and lose it, thank you for still respecting me even at my weakest  moment.

To the mom who witnessed my child being impolite, thank you for not making me feel like I am the worst mom in the planet. I try to teach her about manners, but she is still learning.

I know I am not a perfect mom, thank you for understanding that I’m only human.

Cheers to all the moms who don’t judge!
