8-month old Zaillynn Mars only has a short time on this earth but her family did not let this stop her from making the most out of what time she has left.
After coming up with a bucket list of the best experiences she might miss out on, they are now ticking off each item on the list one by one.
What Zailynn has is severe SMA or Spinal Muscular Atrophy; children who suffer from this don’t usually live past two years old.
There is no known cure for SMA. Those with the condition will eventually lose essential muscular functions necessary for daily tasks.
Through it all, her family has not lost hope and according to Fox news, these are the remaining things on her bucket list:
- Take a boat ride
- Get on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to spread awareness about SMA
- Go fishing and catch a fish
- Attend a Brewer’s game
- Play in the leaves
- Build a snowman
They also plan to host a prom for her so she can get to experience it.
Her mom Katie told WBAY-TV 2, “I’m very excited for her to be able to enjoy us holding her, dancing with her, seeing other kids with her. She loves other kids, she just lights up and smiles. And she loves to giggle, and it will mean the world to me.”
The Mars family has also created a facebook page as a tribute to Zailynn and her extraordinary life.
