Humans are social beings, and talking to other people is a part of our nature. However, some things are better left as secrets between you and your spouse. Here are 3 things that you should only talk about with your spouse:
1. Sex and intimacy
Obviously, anything that has to do with sex and intimacy in your marriage should remain confined within the 4 walls of your bedroom. Sex and intimacy is a very private thing, and you wouldn’t want your husband to talk about it with his buddies, so you also shouldn’t talk about those things with your girl friends.
Keep the trust in your relationship strong, and make sure to keep anything that happens between the both of you a secret.
2. Complaints about your significant other
A lot of people are guilty of this, they love to complain about their husband to their friends, or to their family members. And who can blame them? It’s pretty hard to tell your significant other that you have some complaints about them, since you’re scared that it might hurt their feelings.
However, doing this shows a lack of respect and trust towards your spouse. It’s important for people in a marriage to be honest with each other, even if it can sometimes hurt the other person. Of course, you need to be tactful about these things. You can’t just go off telling your husband that he’s too messy, or that you think he’s starting to become lazy. Say it as nicely as you can, and don’t make your spouse feel too bad about it.
3.Problems with your in-laws
If you have problems with your in-laws, then there’s no better person to talk about it than with your spouse. After all, your in-laws are your spouse’s parents, so your spouse should be able to help you out, or clear some things out with you.
It’s important to know that in some cases, your spouse won’t always be on your side when it comes to arguments with your in-laws, but that doesn’t mean that your spouse doesn’t respect you. Maybe you’re just overreacting, or overthinking things. Try to look at both sides, and look for a peaceful way to resolve your differences. After all, you’re already a part of their family, and they’re a part of yours.
