Getting married can get pretty expensive. Especially here in the Philippines where weddings are a huge family affair. So here are some helpful tips to prepare for that special wedding day without burning a hole in your wallet!

Wedding on a tight budget

In today’s world, wedding trends are ever-changing. Resulting in making you feel that you need lots of money to be able to have your dream wedding celebration. Now, if you are planning to be married and yet you have a limited funds, here’s some tips on how to plan your wedding on a tight budget:

1. Look for discount packages

In most cases, it can be more expensive if you source everything that you need for your wedding separately. Some caterers offer packages that include flower arrangements which can not only reduce the cost of your wedding, but having your caterer also do the decorations makes it easier to coordinate since you’ll be talking to just one person.

2. Do some of it yourself!

It might take some effort on your part, but if you, your friends, or your relatives can do some of the things you need such as the decorations, the invitations, etc., it would be a significant reduction in the cost of your wedding.

Of course, you have to ask them first if it would be okay for them to help you out with the preparations, and don’t forget to give them a thank you note, or a small gift for their help!

3. You can buy a beautiful wedding gown off the rack, and for cheap!

It takes some hunting, but there are some relatively cheap, but beautiful wedding gown that you can buy off the rack.

It also helps if you already have an idea of what you want your dress to look like, so that you’d have an easier time narrowing down the exact dress that you want to wear on your wedding.

Wedding invitation: ‘Small’ weddings are almost nonexistent here in the Philippines since marriages are always a large family gathering. However, there’s nothing wrong with keeping it small and intimate so that you can save some money. After all, it is you and your partner’s special day, and it’s up to you to decide who you want to celebrate it with.
