What to do on Valentine’s day

1. Take a trip to the National Museum

Good news, the National Museum in Ermita, Manila, now has free admission! It’s not only a great destination for couples, but it’s also fun for your whole family as well.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, going to the museum doesn’t sound too romantic, but it’s actually a great way to spend time with your spouse, and also a good way to see great art, and learn about Philippine history.

Afterwards, there are a lot of nearby restaurants where you can have a romantic dinner, and you can have a nice walk in nearby Luneta.

2. Go to the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta!

Now, it’s a bit far, but the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Clark (PIHABF), Pampanga, is well worth the trip (and a bit of expense).

It will be happening on February 9-12 in Clark, Pampanga, and it’s a great way to spend your weekend. For those who are more budget oriented, you can just have a nice date outside the venue and watch all of the amazing hot air balloons float by.

You can also bring your kids, since we’re sure that they’ll definitely love it! Learn more about the PIHABF by going to their website.

3. Watch a free concert!

A lot of malls, universities, and some parks hold free Valentine’s Day events and concerts. They’re a nice (not to mention cheap!) way to spend Valentine’s with your partner.

If you can’t find any free events, there are also a lot of concerts that are available for cheap around the Metro. Afterwards, you can have a nice romantic dinner with your spouse or your family.

4. Have a nice breakfast date

Can you remember the last time that you and your partner had a nice breakfast in bed? Chances are, it’s been a while, so having a nice breakfast in bed for Valentine’s Day is the perfect way to start the day!

It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just a couple of eggs, some coffee, and pandesal would be great. What’s important is that you and your spouse spend some time together, and just be happy that you have each other in your lives.

5. Stargazing

Yup, stargazing. Just sit back and look at how amazing the universe is. One of the best places to do this would be in the UP Diliman Campus. You can even bring along some snacks and have a nice picnic date.

You can also bring your kids along, since we’re sure that they’ll love trying to figure out the constellations that they can see. You can also bring a star map so that you can track your discoveries.

  1. Show them what love means

Set an example of what it means to love others for your child. Show your child how much you care about them and the rest of your family. Additionally, you can teach your youngster how to take care of other people and their environment.

You can achieve this by giving your time to people in need, showing kindness to others, and supporting charities that are important to you and your family. Your youngster will learn the importance of love and compassion through these deeds.

  1. Teach love through storytelling

Visit the library and select a few unique titles regarding Valentine’s Day. Request book recommendations from your local library. After that, return home for your personal story hour.

Read these special love stories aloud in a quiet area of your house. Even better, get creative and make projects inspired by your unique Valentine’s Day tales.

  1. Picnic with your kids

Go on a picnic as a family. The kids enjoy the meal more because of the change in scenery. You can have a picnic on the nearest park and buy food that your kids love.

  1. Team up for a surprise!

Encourage your children to assist you in planning a surprise for your spouse or another member of the family. You may make a welcome home banner, embellish photos, give him something at work, or use your imagination.

  1. Bake your own pizza

Making your own pizza and toppings from scratch with a partner or with your kids just seems so romantic and thoughtful. Even better, go all out and cut your pizza into a heart shape.

  1. Create love letters, then read them aloud.

Write each other love letters throughout the next few days. Then, spend the evening reading them out loud.
