When was the last time you bought your wife a bouquet of fresh flowers? Was it her birthday or perhaps, Valentine’s day? Though sweet gestures and gifts are great for special occasion, there’s something about an unexpected act of love that will really sweep her off her feet. We’re not talking about grand gestures or expensive dates, though those are great, too! Wooing your wife all over again can be simple, but it can do wonders in keeping the spark alive!
So where can you start? Read on to find out some tips we learned from marriage counseling website Only You Forever.
1. Give
Being generous is one of the most basic traits a good husband has. More than simply being a good provider, true generosity is when you celebrate your wife’s strengths and support her weaknesses. It also means offering your time and effort to her. It’s no wonder it’s been considered one of the top predictors of a successful marriage.
2. Sacrifice
Though similar to generosity, sacrificing has a deeper meaning. It involves giving without expecting anything in return, it’s rooted in unconditional love.
Sacrifice can take many forms, it may be material or giving up something of value for the sake of your spouse. For instance, giving up a career change that requires you to migrate to another country because it means your wife would have to sacrifice her own career.
3. Showing her you appreciate her
A simple “thank you” or “I appreciate you” when your wife is having a rough day can make her feel kilig all over again. Your wife wants to feel that her efforts are valued, that she is special. Don’t allow the routine kill the romance.
4. Open up
Emotionally detached husbands aren’t exactly good at the romantic stuff. If you’re not the chatty type, keep it simple. Open up about little things you love about her, or you can even just muse about future travel plans. Be upfront about your fears and anxieties, allow them to give advice. This shows your wife you truly value her.
5. Share tasks
If you don’t think doing errands together can be romantic, think again! Splitting responsibilities can bring you just as closer together than any fancy date could.
6. Be positive
Shower your wife with compliments and be cheerful. A good disposition and a positive outlook not only lightens the mood, it can also remind your wife of why she was attracted to you in the first place.
7. Be playful
Flirt. Touch. Have fun together. This is so important for romance, hubbies! Showing your wife that life has not made you bitter or uptight can remind her of simpler times when you were young and falling in love for the first time.
8. Be present
Being attentive and simply being there for your wife is already something so special for them. Often, the demands of life tend to pull your mind and emotions away, that it becomes all the more sweet when they see you invested in just simply being together.
