For the past 25 years, Young Living has always been committed to its stewardship of championing nature’s living energy—the use of essential oils—by fostering a community of healing and inspiring individuals to wellness, purpose and abundance. With the current COVID-19 pandemic shaking the entire world and disrupting normal ways of life, Young Living stands by its commitment to empower individuals to experience whole-life wellness and to provide an alternative source of wellness during circumstances they need it the most.

As Young Living strives to deliver wellness to every home through essential oils, Young Living also stands as one with the nation in supporting our healthcare frontliners—who battle the sickness head on—despite fears of exposure to the disease. Through its donation drive “A Helping Hand for the Frontline Heroes,” Young Living Philippines has handed over all proceeds to the Philippine Red Cross, who have allocated resources for COVID-19 frontline workers. From April 4-6, each item purchased was matched by $1 by Young Living Philippines, in a drive entitle “A Dollar to Defend our Heroes.” As a result of all these efforts, a total of P339, 832 was collected by the company, which they immediately turned over to the Philippine Red Cross.

Aside from company efforts, #BadgeOfValor: Stories of YL Heroes recounts how Young Living members have personally responded to the nation’s call for help against the COVID-19 pandemic. Staying true to the Young Living principle of bringing abundance to others—even in hard times, these Young Living members have exemplified extraordinary acts of selflessness, extending their helping hands beyond what is needed of them.

Joy Tagle, a clothing business owner who happens to be a Young Living Philippines Silver Leader, turned her operations around to focus on producing over 3,000 masks for doctors, nurses, soldiers, policemen, guards and other frontliners. Instead of turning her back against to bigger needs of the nation and focusing on how to revive her business, Joy took the current pandemic as her new mission, to use her business’ capabilities in assisting those in need.

In a true act of selflessness, Anna Baysic, a Young Living Philippines Silver Leader, rallied her entire family to create communication boards for intubated COVID-19 patients who are temporarily unable to speak. These bring a huge relief to hospital operations since nurses can now more effectively communicate with their high-risk patients. Knowing that no act is too small in the global fight against the pandemic, Anna hopes that through this effort, the heavy load and stress frontliners experience in the hospital is somehow lessened.

Earlier during the quarantine period, many were saddened by hearing news that the health of some medical frontliners are compromised when faced with the task of intubating COVID-19 patients, as this brings a dangerous level of exposure to the disease. Young Living Philippines Silver Leader Nathalie Cadag, also an employee at the finance department of a government hospital in Bicol, took it upon herself and some colleagues to create aerosol boxes used to control contamination when COVID-19 patients are intubated. This way, frontliners may answer the call of duty while worrying less about exposure to the disease. Using her resourcefulness, Nathalie was also able to solicit medical supplies that were used in her hospital.

Like this pandemic’s frontliners and Young Living members who have gone beyond their call of duty, everyone can do their part by staying home and maintaining their health. Through #Quarantips, Young Living Philippines provides tips on its Facebook page to help Young Living members and their families stay safe while staying indoors. Here are some of them:

  1. Make a handy mouth spray with Thieves Mouthwash by filling a small glass spray bottle with Thieves Fresh Essence Mouthwash. Spray it in the mouth for a fresh clean breath.
  2. Clean common surfaces in the home and in public with Thieves Spray. A naturally derived, plant-based portable cleaning spray, Thieves Spray is safe to use around the home and the whole family.
  3. During period of anxiety, apply the Peace & Calming Roll-On during meditation or relaxation breaks, as a quick breather from working from home, in line at the grocery, and before sleeping.
  4. Help yourself and your kids adjust to the challenges of home schooling by diffusing KidScents GeneYus to help boost their energy and drive. You may also apply it directly on their temples or napes for better focus during study time.
  5. Join the #YLOnline Facebook Live classes every Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. for educational and active sessions such as workout and self-care classes.
