The “New Girl” is now a new mom and she stopped by the Ellen show to talk about motherhood and how she came up with her daughter’s name, which is just as quirky as she is.

During the interview, the singer-actress talked about why she named her firstborn Elsie Otter.

Yes, you read that right.

“Is that a family name?” Ellen asked. To which, Zooey hilariously replied, “In the sense that…we’re all…mammals.”

Since her first name was more conventional, they thought that they can have more fun with the second name.

Zooey has always been vocal about her love for animals. But, she and her husband find otters most endearing.
