We’ve listed down several Lent-friendly fast food restaurants you and your family can go to this season. You can be assured they’re always within a few miles of where you are, and they’re relatively cheap!

10 Lent-friendly fast food restaurants

For a limited time, the following fast food restaurants will have Lent-appropriate meals that you can try. Some of them have Lent-appropriate meals by default.

1. McDonald’s Fish & Fries

McDonald’s fish fillet is coated in crispy breading, which you can eat with either fries or rice and your choice of sauce: tartar sauce, sweet & sour, and thousand island. You can get this meal for Php150.

2. Jollibee‘s Tuna Pie

If you’re in a hurry to go somewhere but need some food that’s fit for the Lenten season, you can grab a Tuna Pie at Jollibee. You can get one a la carte for Php45, a Tuna Pie meal for Php59, or a pack of three for Php139.

3. Wendy’s Premium Fish Fillet

Wendy has some pretty nice limited-edition burgers, and the one we’re excited about is their Premium Fish Fillet sandwich. It has fresh Alaskan pollock and crisp greens, all topped with a creamy tartar sauce, for Php139.

4. Greenwich‘s Meatless Pizzas

Greenwich is offering meat-less pizzas for the Lenten season. They have the Veggies & Cheese option for those who like pineapples on their pizza, in addition to loads of vegetables. Then there’s also Extreme Cheese Overload, if you love pizza with just cheese. LOTS of cheese. The overload double pizza versions of both cost Php219.

5. Chowking‘s Sweet & Sour Fish and Chopsuey Combo Meals

Chowking offers combo meal options for both Chopsuey and Sweet & Sour Fish.

The Chopsuey a la carte is Php109, while Chopsuey with drink costs Php123. The same goes for the Sweet & Sour Fish a la carte and with drink, but there’s a third option for the Sweet & Sour Fish meal, which comes with a drink and a Choco Pao, at Php149.

6. Shakey’s Meatless Pizzas

For a list of their meatless pizzas with prices according to size, check out their menu.

  • Louisiana Shrimp – A thin crust pizza laden with shrimps marinated in Cajun spice, fresh basil leaves, and a herbed-garlic sauce.
  • Scallop Primo – Seafood pizza laden with baby scallops, crab kani, basil strips, parsley flakes, a chilli flakes.
  • Friday Special – The oddly named Friday Special that you can eat on days beyond Fridays is loaded with shrimp, anchovies, and mushrooms
  • Vegetarian – A truly meatless pizza loaded with mushrooms, tomatoes, green bell peppers, onions, and garlic.

7. Binalot

Unlike a lot of local fast food joints, Binalot is one of those cheap Lent-friendly fast food restaurants with a pretty flexible menu. They have a lot of chicken and pork dishes, but there’s also quite a number of fish and vegetables options in their menu, like their Bangus and Tilapia options (which both come with salted egg), Laing, Pinakbet, Talong, Gising-Gising, and Bangsilog (bangus, sinangag, itlog).

8. Tropical Hut‘s Daing na Bangus

Tropical Hut has a Bangus meal that has fried rice, tomatoes, eggs, and bangus for Php135.

9. Red Ribbon‘s Bangus Ala Pobre Meal

Red Ribbon offers a bangus meal with rice, a slice of tomato and cucumber, and bangus sprinkled with fried garlic bits for Php99.

 10. Tokyo Tokyo’s Seafood Options

Tokyo Tokyo being a Japanese-inspired restaurant is a Lent-friendly fast food place by default.

They have Prawn and Veggie Tempura meals, like the Prawn & Veggie Tempura meal (Php160), 3 Pcs. Prawn Tempura (Php170), and Prawn & Kani Tempura (Php180). Then you can add Php60 to get a bento upgrade. They also have a seafood ramen option, Php145 for the snack size and Php195 for the regular size.
