On May 15, 2025, a sunny afternoon filled with warmth and heartfelt connection, theAsianparent Philippines launched the very first edition of its exclusive community series: TAP Together, kicking things off with a meaningful Mother’s Day celebration titled Bloom with Big Love. Held for our VIP community and beloved TAPfluencers, the gathering marked the beginning of a new space where moms can connect, reflect, and feel truly seen.

Far from the usual brunch or bouquet, Bloom with Big Love offered something deeper — an intimate space for moms to breathe, create, and be surrounded by women who just get it.
A Cozy & Flavorful Space: Big Belly BGC
This inaugural TAP Together event was held at Big Belly BGC, a hidden gem in Bonifacio Global City that served as the perfect backdrop for our gathering. With its cozy, retro interiors, warm lighting, and playful charm, the venue gave off a fun-yet-relaxing vibe that instantly put moms at ease. The space encouraged conversation, laughter, and those quiet moments of pause — exactly what the day was all about.

Of course, the food was just as comforting. Moms enjoyed a spread of crowd-pleasers: nachos loaded with flavor, juicy smash burgers made with Big Belly’s signature fluffy potato buns, and cheesy pizza slices that disappeared as quickly as they were served. The meal felt like a warm hug — casual, familiar, and absolutely satisfying.

Words That Grounded Us: Carla Perlas
The event opened with heartfelt remarks from Carla Perlas, VP-Communications of The Parentinc and Head of Growth for theAsianparent Philippines and Singapore. A seasoned media leader and mom of two, Carla welcomed attendees with warmth, wisdom, and authenticity. Her message reminded everyone that motherhood, while complex and exhausting, is also deeply transformative — and that it’s okay to pause, recharge, and take up space. Her presence set a tone of empowerment that resonated throughout the day.

A Soft Landing for the Strongest Women
After Carla’s welcome, Hazel Paras-Cariño, Content Editor of theAsianparent Philippines and host for the day, brought energy and relatability to the room. A mom of two and a breastfeeding warrior herself, Hazel set the tone with humor and sincerity:
“This space is for you, Mama. Walang kailangang isipin kundi ang connection, self-care, at syempre, chikahan!”
Attendees joined a heartwarming icebreaker, completing the prompt “My love blooms because…” — a quiet but powerful reminder of the everyday joys that fuel a mother’s heart.
Art, Healing, and Heartwork
A key highlight of the day was a calming art session led by Ross Tiu Cua, a certified Expressive Arts Facilitator, mental health advocate, and proud TAPfluencer. Ross, also trained in the trauma-informed approach, guided moms through a creative exercise that helped them reconnect with themselves beyond their roles.

Through painting, color, and quiet reflection, the activity became more than just art — it became a form of release and self-expression. Ross reminded everyone:
“Today’s art isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present.”
A Floral Touch That Spoke Volumes
A special shoutout goes to FlowerStore.ph, our official flower sponsor, for the elegant hand-tied bouquets that were gifted to every mom in attendance. The simple act of receiving fresh blooms — thoughtfully wrapped and bursting with color — brought wide smiles and even a few teary eyes. For many moms, it wasn’t just a gift; it was a symbolic gesture that they, too, deserve to be cared for, appreciated, and celebrated. It truly elevated the atmosphere and made every mom feel seen.

Bonding Over Bites and Big Love

Of course, no TAP event is complete without food, laughter, and plenty of chikahan. Moms relaxed and bonded over shared experiences, new connections, and a little well-deserved pampering. Surprise giveaways from generous partners — KitchenAid, Watsons, Tiny Buds, and Buds & Bloom — added extra sparkle to the day.

A final group photo, with each mom proudly holding her artwork and bouquet, sealed the memory — a celebration of love, creativity, and community.
The Heart of It All
As the first-ever TAP Together event, Bloom with Big Love planted the seeds of a new tradition — one rooted in meaningful connection, real conversations, and the collective strength of motherhood.
To all the amazing moms who joined us — thank you for showing up and blooming with us. This is only the beginning.
