A lot of people tend to feel lazy or tired during the summer, mostly because of the heat (we’re a tropical country after all!)
That’s why we made a list of fun activities for couples so that they can beat the heat this summer!
1. Go ice Skating!
Here in the Philippines, malls are the most common places where couples go to have a date. Since it’s summertime, and the heat can be sometimes unbearable, why not try going ice skating with your partner! There are a lot of malls in the country that have ice skating rinks, and it’s very affordable.
Just imagine you and your partner, skating around the ice, just like they do in the movies! You can even take your kids with you so that they can learn a new sport! It’s great fun for the entire family.
2. Have an ice cold milkshake!
Milkshakes are a great way to beat the heat! And thankfully, a lot of restaurants also offer great-tasting milkshakes so you can keep cool while you’re on a date with your partner! We recommend the milkshakes from Army Navy, Starr’s Famous Shakes, and UGBO.
While you’re at it, you can try visiting the numerous food parks that have recently popped up in the Metro, we’re sure that somewhere out there is a great milkshake just waiting to be discovered!
3. Go to the park
Yup, parks are still a fun place to visit here in the Philippines! These past few years have seen a resurgence in bringing back and maintaining all of the old parks that kids back in the day used to always visit.
A great example would be Rizal Park! Not only is Rizal Park now one of the most beautiful destinations to visit in Manila, it’s also a great place to just relax, hang out, and be with your loved ones. It’s also a classic date place, and you can watch the beautiful Manila Bay sunset just by walking to nearby Manila Bay! It’s truly amazing.
Plus, you can also bring your kids with you, as there’s a children’s park in Luneta that your kid will surely enjoy!
4. Watch a movie
Filipinos just love watching films! And of course, one of the best date ideas would be to have a romantic night and watch a good movie! You can ask one of your relatives to babysit your kids while you and your partner go out on a romantic evening!
5. Visit the newly renovated Manila Planetarium
Manila is currently undergoing a cultural resurgence, and along with the renovations done on Rizal Park, National Museum, and the ongoing renovations for the Metropolitan Theater, the Manila Planetarium has now been opened to the public with state-of-the-art upgrades as well as an improved view of the night sky!
If you miss watching the night sky like you used to back when you were a kid, then we’re sure that you’ll love visiting the Manila Planetarium. Plus, admission is free until the end of April, so be sure to go there soon! You can also take your kids, so you can have a magical adventure through space!
