Hinangaan ng mga netizen sa social media ang anak ng mag-asawang tricycle driver at vendor. Ito ay dahil sa nagawa nitong makapasa sa 20 universities sa United States (US) at United Kingdom (UK).

Bunso sa apat na magkakapatid si Julian Martir. Tricycle driver ang tatay nito at vendor naman ang nanay.
Sa nakalipas na mga buwan, nakatanggap umano ang 20-anyos na si Julian ng 30 acceptance letters. Ito ay mula sa iba’t ibang university sa US at UK. Tinatayang nasa 1.9 million dollars o 106 million pesos ang merit scholarship na inaalok dito.
Ayon sa essay na isinulat ni Julian at ipinaskil ng Digital News Exchange (DNX). Nagsimula lamang ito nang makita niya sa kaniyang YouTube recommendations ang grupo ng mga aspiring international students na nagpla-planong mag-apply ng scholarship abroad.

“Though I was baffled by the undergraduate admission processes outside of the Philippines, I am becoming accustomed to witnessing Philippine college applications, where there were no reservations for other Filipinos like myself to apply with fewer requirements,” saad ni Julian

“Now that I had never heard of anyone in my community or even in the city of Bacolod applying to a college abroad, I wanted to put a spotlight on my family. And the people who have supported me throughout this exhausting procedure,” aniya.
