Baby suffers fracture after being thrown off the bed by his mother's boyfriend

5 Sep, 2016

Franklie Tan Guang Wei, from Singapore, threw his girlfriend's baby boy off the bed when the child started vomiting, causing the child to have a fractured skull. The injury was so severe that the child still has to undergo neurosurgical follow-ups after the incident.

The abuse started just days after the boy's mother got together with Tan. The injuries were first seen by the boy's nanny, but the mother dismissed it and said that the child had just fallen off the bed.

The boy, now 3 years old, has been frequently abused by Tan. There was another instance where the boy was thrown 2 meters across the room towards his mother, and the boy landed on her lap. There was also an instance where he pounded the boy's buttocks.

However, the incident that caused the fracture was because the child vomited on the bed while he was cleaning it. This angered Tan, so he threw the boy off the bed, where the boy landed on his head. The child was then rushed to the hospital after Tan realized that the child was in a daze and was still vomiting. The doctors at the hospital then saw injuries all over the child, including fractures on his skull and wrist as well as bruises all over his body.

The boy is currently in foster care and is still undergoing treatment for his injuries.
