Leno and Evelyn Davis have been feeding Nazareno devotees since 1988, a part of their promise of devotion to the Black Nazarene.
They feed over 700 people
Aside from feeding the devotees during the yearly celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene, the couple also helps out during activities in the Quiapo Church.
They feed over 700 people who go to the church so that they can share their blessings.
Evelyn says that she owes a lot to the Black Nazarene, and that her yearly devotion is a way for her to give back to the community and to help out her fellow devotees.
The Black Nazarene has showered her with blessings
Evelyn shares that she came from a poor family. She worked hard abroad in order to earn a living, and it all eventually paid off. She attributes her success in life to her faith in the Black Nazarene.
She adds that the Black Nazarene has given her a lot of blessings, and has helped her out many times over. She even said that she has been promoting devotion to the Black Nazarene even while she was in the U.S.
According to Evelyn, her first child was always sickly, and her second child was born without lungs. She said that she prayed to the Black Nazarene to keep her children healthy, and miraculously, her second child suddenly grew lungs. Even the doctor who was treating her child was surprised at what happened.
She says that helping out other people, and spreading love is one of the best ways that she can show her devotion. That’s why she and her husband always make it a point to share their blessings with others.
