Whether it’s summer or not, it can get pretty hot here in the Philippines. The sweltering heat and the humidity are normal when you’re living in a country like ours that’s why air conditioners are a must-have in our homes.
Aside from the usual window-type aircons, many have turned to split-types because these are stylish, practical, and are a good investment.
If you’re shopping for a new aircon, look no further. We checked out different brands and compiled the 7 best split type aircon units here in the Philippines.
Tips when buying an aircon
Air conditioners are not cheap. Most are considered investments, so you wouldn’t want to buy something that is not suitable for your home and something you won’t be able to use for a long time. Here are some tips when choosing this appliance:
- Have the room where you plan to put it measured.
- Get a unit that’s right for your space. Buy an aircon with the wrong horsepower for space and it won’t be efficient in cooling the area.
- If there’s an inspection of the room before buying the aircon, go for it.
- Some appliance centers have their installers do an ocular of the space first to determine if the unit is appropriate for it. If there’s no extra fee for this, avail this to be sure you’re getting the right aircon.
- Make sure you have the space for the compressor.
- Since you’re buying a split type, it will have a separate compressor. Make sure you have the space for it outside your home. Most appliance centers can help you with the installation.
- Ask if there’s a fee for the installation of the unit.
- Sometimes, there are promos and they throw in the installation for free. This can save you a lot of money because it can get expensive. Ask what comes with the job also. Are they bringing all the materials or do you have to provide them? Be thorough.
