11 Biggest lies Filipino parents tell their kids

Some of these lies did scare us. Now, we just scratch our heads at these biggest lies Filipino parents tell their kids.

11 Biggest Lies Parents Tell their Kids in Philippines!

Remember when we were kids and our parents had to scare us into doing or not doing things for our own good? Looking back, you may remember the biggest lies your own parents told you that struck fear into your heart—in case you wanted to pick at your scabs or go to bed with your hair still wet.

Here are some of the biggest lies parents tell their kids, as some adults recall:

“Kukunin ka ng Bumbay”

First of all, this is totally disrespectful to Indian people. People, be more PC – like other parents who used policemen, security guards or random passersby instead to scare their kids. “Hala! Kukunin ka na nung mama!” they exclaimed.

“Buntis siya kasi marami siyang kinain na pancit”

Content strategist and mom of one, Glenda, remembers asking her mother how her cousin got pregnant and getting this answer.

“Pag kinutkot mo yung sugat mo, may lalabas na pari”

Accoridng to Mark, dad of one, variations of this lie include a train, a motorcycle, rice, and basically anything your parents could think of to horrify you.

“Nilabas ka lang ng kabayo, hindi ka talaga namin anak”

Maybe our parents were having a really bad day that time. This could be a variation of, “Ampon ka lang.“

“Pag natulog kang basa ang buhok mo, mabubulag ka.”

Not really a lie but Ron, dad of two, says that his parents insisted this would happen even in a parked car. He still believed it.
