As Nutrition Month approaches this July, Chef Mom Rosebud Benitez offered practical, mom-tested advice for Filipino parents during the Knorr Stir-Fry Fest: I-Level Up ang Lasap! held last June 24 at Whitespace Makati.
Addressing the common challenge of kids who prefer baon staples like hotdog and nuggets, Chef Rosebud emphasized simple but effective ways to boost nutrition in every meal:
Start introducing vegetable tastes and textures early—as young as 1 year old—to help kids develop a natural liking for healthy food
Be creative in hiding veggies—think grated carrots in lumpia, malunggay in rice, or pureed kalabasa in pasta sauce
Meal prep to make healthy choices more convenient during busy weekdays
Use naturally colorful ingredients for a more visually appealing and nutrient-rich plate
“The more naturally colorful the food is, the more nutritious,” she shared.
These insights were part of the Knorr Stir-Fry Fest’s hands-on culinary experience, which brought together home cooks, content creators, and food lovers for a flavor-packed afternoon. Featuring Knorr Sure Lasap—a stir-fry seasoning with superior garlic flavor and aroma—the event highlighted how everyday dishes can be both delicious and nutrient-boosted with just a few smart choices.
As moms juggle nutrition, budget, and picky eaters, Chef Rosebud’s message is clear: “Healthy doesn’t have to be hard. Just be creative, be intentional, and enjoy the process.”
