He must have been a smart kid curious about how things work.
The 4-year old was playing with an escalator handrail with his 3-year old sister and when he leaned back against it, he was pulled and pinned down to the floor instantly.
As the young Chinese boy dies, wedged and unable to move, his mother (who reportedly had gone to the toilet) tries to rescue him but to no avail.
Though the metro station staff shut down the escalator in under half a minute, it was still too late.

It is so important to be alert when bringing your kids to a public place.
Do not leave your kids unattended, even for a little while. Accidents such as this happen in a flash so each second counts.
Make sure they do not stray from you especially if you are the only one watching them.
