Ayon sa Philippine Health Insurance Corp o PhilHealth, ang testing para COVID-19 ay umaabot sa 3,409 pesos.
Matatandaan na binatikos sila sa dating price ng test na 8,150 pesos. Masyado daw itong mahal o overpriced para sa testing nagagawin sa COVID-19. Ngunit ngayon ay naglabas na ng bagong presyo at ito umabot na lamang sa 3,000 pesos.
Sa anunsyo ng spokesperson ng PhilHealth na si Shirley Domingo, ang ginawang adjustment nila ngayon ay dahil sa pagtaas ng availability at affordability ng mga testing kits na ito sa market. Isa ring dahilan ay ang pagkakaroon ng madaming qualified facilities para sa COVID-19.
"The adjustment resulted from its continuing consultation with stakeholders and infectious disease experts, increased availability and affordability of testing kits in the market. And increased number of qualified facilities to do SARS-CoV-2 testing."
Nahahati sa tatlong presyo ang test sa COVID-19. Nakadepende rin ito sa magiging sitwasyon.
- 901 pesos - Ito ay kapag donated ang mga test kits at ang cost ng running lab and PCR machine ay kasama sa budget ng pasilidad.
- 2,077 pesos - Ito ay kapag donated ang test kits.
- 3,409 pesos - Ito ay kapag provided ang lahat ng testing services.
Kapag ang test kit ay donated sa laboratory, ang presyo nito ay mababawasan sa total cost. Nakapaloob na rin dito ang clinical assessment, specimen collection, specimen transport at mga gagamiting test kits at PPEs.
