According to Dr. Zain Husain, a dermatologist in New Jersey, USA  babies have highly sensitive skin because their skin and immune system are not fully matured yet.

Using the wrong detergent in terms of washing their clothes can increase the chances of chemical reactions that other detergents contain.

According to Dr. Husain, in order to avoid an allergic reaction, better use baby-safe laundry detergents on washing baby’s clothes to guarantee cleanliness and to also avoid harmful chemicals.

Not all detergent soaps and powder that claims that they are “baby-friendly" are really good for babies. Dr. Husain stated that there are a lot of factors you need to consider before using detergents.

First, it must be hypoallergenic to avoid certain reactions on your baby’s skin.  Next, it should be fragrance-free or the detergent shouldn’t be combined with fragrant chemicals and lastly, it should be dye-free or free of chemical colorants.
