How far would you be willing to go for your family?

After he was fired from his job as a construction worker in Valenzuela, Manila, Virgilio walked 260 kilometers to make it home to his family in Isabela, traversing highways and steep, unpaved roads all while pushing a rickety kariton.

Viewers were inspired  by the devoted dad when he was featured on ABS-CBN’s Bandila. Not having enough money for bus fare, the resourceful dad decided to pick up junk on the way to sell so he could have money for food.

By the time he reached Nueva Ecija, a motorcycle rider helped him and gave him food. The kind man shared Virgilio’s story on facebook, which inspired a group of motorcycle riders to help the determined man make his way to Isabela by finally giving him a ride to complete the last stretch of his nearly week long journey.
