A world of discovery and learning await your child in Singapore!

Every year millions of families step out of their homes to explore the world. They do it for various reasons: to spend time together in a different setting, to experience a new culture or to forge meaningful memories together.

Travelling teaches us a lot, and it can help us and our children to discover or deepen our passions in various areas that we might not otherwise have been aware of.

To uncover the hidden passions of your children, you don't need to look very far from home, as you're about to find out! Come with us as we embark on a little journey of self-discovery and inspiration across the ocean together.

Why Bring Your Children to Singapore to Discover Their Passions?

Why Bring Your Children to Singapore to Discover Their Passions?

Centrally located in Southeast Asia, Singapore is home to a multiracial and multicultural society, making the island nation a veritable melting pot of cultures and ideas. Your children will be amazed at the sheer range of opportunities to discover their passions in this world-class city state.
Uncovering Your Child’s Passion in Nature

Uncovering Your Child’s Passion in Nature

Many children are interested in animals and nature. But how do you know if these are true passions that will mould them into who they want to be some day? Would they want to be a biologist or a zoologist or a marine scientist? A great way to find out is to bring them to the Singapore Zoo, The River Safari, Jurong Bird Park, and the SEA Aquarium.

The Singapore Zoo is home to 315 animal species, of which some 16 percent are considered to be endangered. Spread over 28 hectares within Singapore's heavily forested central catchment area, the zoo is connected to some equally adventurous attractions such as the Night Safari, River Safari and the Jurong Bird Park.

It is the ideal place to let your young nature lovers to roam free, ask questions and discover insights about the natural world they never knew before. If your child is destined to be the next wildlife warrior, you’re bound to find out right here!

For little ones passionate about marine life, a trip to the S.E.A. Aquarium is a dream come true. Here, they’ll soak up information about sharks, dolphins, coral reefs and other marine animals. Importantly, children will also learn about how important marine life conservation is, which can stoke their special interest in this field of study.

Uncovering Your Child’s Passion in Science

Uncovering Your Child’s Passion in Science

Singapore is considered one of the most developed countries in the world. One of the main reasons behind Singapore’s success is how it embraces science and technology.

Let your kids explore their passion for science and technology in places such as the Science Centre, ArtScience Museum and Singapore Discovery Centre.

Your child will be thrilled to see over 800 exhibits based on physics, chemistry and biology, spread over eight galleries at the Science Centre.

The Science Centre Observatory, is perfect for young stargazers to take their interests to astronomical levels!

Don’t forget to head to the beautiful ArtScience Museum with your children to discover a seamless melding of art, science, design, media, architecture and technology, in incredibly creative ways.

Let them discover the sustainability feature of this “lotus flower” shaped building. Here, rainwater is harvested and channelled down the center of the building, flowing through its bowl-shaped roof into a reflecting pond at the lowest level of the building. The rainwater is then recycled for use in the building's restrooms.

Uncovering Your Child’s Passion in the Arts

Uncovering Your Child’s Passion in the Arts

Watching your child’s face light up with excitement when they have new experiences is a beautiful moment for parents. Inevitably, this is followed by many questions, which often precede the birth of a particular passion.

Expect many of these questions when you bring your children to some of Asia’s most stunning artistic creations and performances at the Esplanade, the National Gallery and the Singapore Art Museum.

The Esplanade — housed in a Durian-shaped building which is a marvel of architecture by itself — is the epicentre of musical shows and theatrical productions and dance performances in Singapore. Similarly, the National Gallery and the Singapore Art Museum are full of artefacts and renowned pieces of art that will excite and inspire your artistic kids.

These famous museums feature installations and works by local and international artists. The National Gallery, for example, showcases more than 8,000 pieces from Singapore’s National Collection, making it one of the world’s largest and most invaluable public collections of Singapore and Southeast Asian modern art from the 19th century to the present day. The Singapore Art Museum even has educational programmes that demonstrate the relevance of art in relation to the world around us through conversations about contemporary art. Also, depending on the season, children get to enjoy a series of free public programmes like discussions, film screenings, special tours for the whole family and artist-led workshops.

Do you have a budding Picasso at home? You won’t know until you bring them to those incredible locations!

Uncovering Your Child’s Passion in Adventure

Uncovering Your Child’s Passion in Adventure

Are your children interested in the great outdoors? Do they have a passion for all things adventurous? Singapore has a variety of unique destinations that can bring out the adventurer in your child.

For young historical adventurers, Fort Canning Park is perfect to nurture their passions. This place is a great mix of the ancient and the modern. It is a place where Malay royalty once ruled in medieval times. And it is also here where the British decided to surrender to the invading Japanese during the Second World War.

The park also boasts of a Spice Garden, the ASEAN Sculpture Garden and Battle Box, a former underground military complex that was used in WWII.

What if your child loves being immersed in nature? Then, take a bumboat to Pulau Ubin, a little island rich in mangroves and swamps, and home to varied flora and fauna.

Let your little one discover his passion for the natural world as you cycle around with him across this island. Places like Chek Jawa within the island shelter a treasure trove of biodiversity, which your child will be able to see and learn about. You can also rent Kampong (village) houses for a taste of rural life.

Or you can bring them birdwatching at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserves. This is Singapore’s first ASEAN Heritage Park and is home to mangroves, mudflats, ponds and forests that reflect a unique and rich ecosystem.

After such an exciting and stimulating trip, your child will undoubtedly know if their passion truly lies in the great outdoors!
