Hello Parents!
Are you looking for some fun activities for your family? I know it's hard to think of an activity that your child and family can both enjoy. But it is important for us parents to be involved, this strengthen our bonds with them and it can build a positive behavior to our child.
Our son who just turned 3, find some activities boring and redundant. In this internet age, I decided not to rely on it whenever we ran out of activities. I want my child to experience what it's like to have a childhood that is full of fun experiences.
Here are some of our family activities
1. Indoor Camping
We usually do dthis when it's rainy. We set up a fort or tent using blankets and we lie down while playing with shadows using flashlight. This is a good family activity, your child can develop his imaginations through this.
2. Art day/Face painting
Every week, we schedule an art day where my child can showcase his love for art. I also let my child paint my face as part of the activity. His imaginative and creative skills can be developed by this. We also did some hand paint and now it's on our wall being displayed.
3. A walk to the park
Due to pandemic, me and my child spend most of our time indoors. Our child's health is and always will be our top priority. When the restrictions and pandemic lifted, we sometimes go out and have a walk to the park with safety precautions of course. Going out is refreshing for our child, they can run and play around. This can help him explore and discover new things outside.
We also bring blanket and have a picnic while my child is playing.
4. Baking/Cooking
I give my child some small tasks like beating an egg and let him help cook a pancake. He finds it fun and enjoys doing it with me and his dad. We can let them help us sometimes even if it means to have a lot of mess to clean after. Our child will remember this moment that you have fun together as a family.
5. Quick Road Trip
A quick road trip to your child's favorite restaurant, beach, mall or even supermarket. Running errands with child might be exhausting. But, you can make it a fun activity with your family. We do things as a family, even grocery shopping. Having a quick road trip is refreshing and new to my child. He enjoys looking at the views outside even if we just circle around the neighborhood.
Spending time with our child is important. And there are some activities that we can do as a family. We just have to let ourselves involved in their own little world. Let's be present for them. Our child grows up so fast and it is important for us to savor every moment we spend with them.
