A father from Cauayan City, Isabela will be facing child abuse cases after it was discovered that he hit his 9-year-old daughter 25 times with a belt.
It was discovered by her classmates and teachers
Based on reports, the incident was reported to the police after the girl’s classmates and teachers discovered the marks that the severe beating left on the 9-year-old’s body.
The child then admitted that she was beaten by her father because she tried to steal 100 pesos from him.
According to officials from the City Health Office, the child received no less than 25 lashes after the belt hit her in various parts of her body. The City Social Welfare and Development Office adds that her mother had passed away, and she’s living with an older sister and her father at home.
Her father will be facing child abuse cases
In spite of her injuries, the 9-year-old was still going to school, and according to the principal, her condition is slowly improving. As a result of the incident, the school and the local government decided that she will be staying for the meantime with her uncle.
Her father, on the other hand, will undergo counseling and will be facing child abuse cases as a result of his actions.
