Netizen Francis Adrian Cornilla Agrabio took a photograph of a man at a KFC branch in Limketkai Mall in Cagayan de Oro City who was cleaning the tables.
According to Agrabio, he became curious when he noticed that the man wasn’t wearing a KFC uniform, but was cleaning up after the diners who just finished eating. Eventually, he heard from another diner, who asked the man what he was doing, that it was the man’s job to clean the tables. In exchange, he would get the leftover food from KFC as payment which provides his family with food.
He chose to work hard for his family
The photo immediately went viral, and has now been shared over 50,000 times. A lot of netizens were amazed at the man’s industriousness, as well as his choice to work instead of beg for his food, or do other illegal activities.
However, some netizens felt that KFC was abusing his rights, and that he also deserved to receive a proper wage since he was technically working in the KFC.
Regardless, it’s amazing to know that even if he and his family are struggling to make ends meet, the man doesn’t use his poverty as an excuse to commit crimes or other similar acts. Instead, he chose to work an honest living, in order to provide for his family.
