French Apples Arrive in the Philippines: A Fresh Taste of Sustainability and Flavor

French apples are now available in the Philippines, giving Filipino families access to premium-quality, sustainably grown apples straight from France’s top orchards. Here’s what parents should know about the harvest, varieties, and the Taste France campaign introducing these apples to local homes.

Filipino families now have a new fruit to love as French apples officially arrive in the Philippines, bringing with them a promise of quality, sustainability, and exceptional flavor. Known for their crisp bite, juiciness, and naturally vibrant colors, these apples are set to offer a fresh option for households that value nutritious and globally inspired food choices.

A Strong Harvest from France

This year, France is celebrating a strong apple harvest of 1.485 million tons—4% higher than 2024 and 3% above the three-year average. Popular international varieties such as Gala, Golden, Granny Smith, Fuji, and Red apples continue to be steady favorites, while premium “Club” varieties like Pink Lady, Jazz, Joya, and Juliet have also increased in supply.

One of the biggest highlights is the rapid rise of new-generation apple varieties, estimated to hit 145,000 tons this year, marking an impressive 51% growth. This is especially significant as total European apple production is at its lowest since 2017. Despite this, the French apple industry continues to show resilience, consistency, and quality.

Why the Philippines Is an Important Market

With more Filipino families choosing healthier and higher-quality food for their homes, the Philippines has become an exciting market for French apple producers.

According to Daniel Soares, International Director at Interfel, Filipino consumers appreciate nutritious, trustworthy, and premium products—making the country a natural match for French apples. The goal is not only to export fruits but also to build a long-term relationship with Filipino households based on quality and sustainability.

Grown with Care: What Makes French Apples Different

French apples are produced through eco-responsible farming practices. These include careful stewardship of biodiversity, strict traceability, and preservation of different apple varieties to ensure flavor, freshness, and food safety.

For parents looking for nutritious, ready-to-eat snacks for their kids or versatile ingredients for family meals, French apples offer a healthy option that also aligns with values of sustainability and mindful consumption.

Taste France Campaign: Bringing French Apples to Filipino Homes

To introduce these apples to more Filipino families, Interfel is launching a nationwide Taste France promotional campaign running from November 2025 to February 2026.

The campaign includes:

  • A press and KOL event with chefs Rolando and Jacqueline Laudico, who showcased how French apples can blend beautifully with Filipino dishes.

  • In-store promotions across major supermarkets and specialty retailers to encourage families to discover the apples for themselves.

This initiative marks the beginning of a growing partnership between French producers and Filipino consumers—one that aims to bring more premium-quality fruits to local homes.
