Thanks to her funny viral videos, Katrina Argao-Galang has now been dubbed the “heartbroken but palaban girl,” but she’s actually happily married, which just speaks to how good the part-time actress is!
Though she works full time as a sales and marketing manager, Kat is no stranger to the limelight, having appeared in short films, commercials, and theater plays.
Her first viral video, in which she tearfully raps the early 2000s cult hit “Stupid Love” by Salbakuta, while wearing green tassel earrings, now has almost 400,000 views.
“Yung first vid actually, trip lang. Gusto ko lang mag-picture that time with my earrings. Sabi ko namiss ko kumanta kasi mahilig talaga ko kumanta ever since…”
“Yung first vid actually, trip lang. Gusto ko lang mag-picture that time with my earrings. Sabi ko namiss ko kumanta kasi mahilig talaga ko kumanta ever since,” the rising social media star tells Manila Bulletin.
“So kanta na lang ako tapos Stupid Love yung unang pumasok sa isip ko so ayun na lang para good vibes,” she added with a laugh. “Then after knowing na nagustuhan ng mga tao sa social media yung vid ko, naisip kong sundan ng 2nd one at maging consistent with what I did on the first one.”
Five days later, she posted her next video. This time, she chose yellow tassels and rapped a capella to Kabet.
“Nagagawa ko lang yun kapag tulog [na] yung baby ko,” she shared.
A week later, she posted another clip of herself rapping and singing Gloc-9’s Hinahanap ng Puso, with the same hugot expressions that crack her followers up.
Less than a month since her videos went viral, Kat has inspired various parodies and memes, one of which was shared by her proud hubby Jal.
“Padami nang padami love!” he wrote on Facebook. “I’m so proud of you!”
It looks like her toddler Kamie will soon be following in her acting footsteps!
