According to a report by ABS-CBN News, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has given birth to a healthy baby boy. Their baby, Marko Digong D. Carpio, who they’ve nicknamed Stonefish, was born via C-section, weighing 5.3 pounds, on March 2, 2017 at the Davao Doctor Doctors’ Hospital.
Back in August 2016, Inday Sara, as she is fondly called by her family and supporters, broke the sad news that she lost two of the triplets she was carrying.
That’s why the fact that she successfully gave birth to the third baby is truly cause for celebration.
The City Government of Davao congratulated the couple on welcoming a new addition to the Duterte clan.
“The President is delighted with the arrival of his newest apo, and he is glad that both Mayor Inday Sara and Stonefish are healthy and stable,” Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella told reporters, according to Rappler.
Stonefish joins ate Sharky and kuya Stingray, who owe their unique nicknames to their mother’s love for the sea.
