Jollibee has recently released an apology regarding a video that recently went viral.
It happened during an internal event
The video in question showed the beloved mascot doing a sensual dance to the tune of “Versace on the Floor,” a popular pop song.
The fast food chain shared a statement recently on Facebook to address the video, saying “Jollibee would like to apologize to the public, especially to our young fans, who may have been disappointed or offended with the said dance video of our mascot that was uploaded on social media.”
Jollibee’s apology was in light of the negative reaction netizens hard regarding the video, with some even going so far as to saying that it was immoral, and the video might influence young children to engage in activities that are inappropriate for their age.
The fast food chain however, made it clear that the video was for an internal store event, and not a kids party, as earlier reported. They added that they’ll take “necessary measures to ensure that all Jollibee mascot performances will consistently reflect the values and spirit of family, friendship, and wholesome fun that Jollibee has always been known for.”
