Keep your kids safe online with the new Facebook Privacy Check-up

These days, kids don't need to have their own social media accounts to become targets of digital crimes. They can be victims of digital kidnapping through yours.

Whether your child is a teen with his own Facebook account or a kid/toddler/baby who's visible on yours, you need to do a Privacy Check-up stat! You'll be done in 4 easy steps.

Step 1: Open Privacy Check-up

Click on the Privacy Check-up Link on the security tab of the main Facebook toolbar.
Step 2: Select whom you would like to see your posts

You can select between Public, Friends, and Only Me, or customize further through More Options.
Step 3: Double-check your Apps

Step 3: Double-check your Apps

You may not have realized it then but some of the apps you've logged on to through Facebook have default privacy settings that you didn't or no longer agree with.
Step 4: Check your Profile

Step 4: Check your Profile

Your profile contains contact information so you'll really want to be careful with this. Don't forget to click Finish after you've reviewed your profile.
