Las Piñas police have rescued three-year-old Princess Louisana Bumatay, who was abducted last December 30. As it turns out, the child was indeed kidnapped, and the kidnappers were planning to either sell the girl for 8,000 pesos or force her to beg for alms in Cavite.
The kidnappers planned on selling the child
The kidnappers were identified as Giselle Omaya, the woman who abducted the child, and Cerio Tinolete, who was found with Princess in Cavite.
The suspects were planning to sell Princess for 8,000-10,000 pesos or force her to beg for alms if they were unable to sell her.
According to Metro Manila Southern Police District Director Chief Superintendent Tomas Apolinario Jr., “Either ipapatubos or ibebenta sana ‘yung bata. Pero nung hindi nag-prosper, plano nila ay gagawin na lang daw sana nila pagpapalimos sa kalye.”
He added that the child’s parents were in contact with the kidnappers even before they went to the police. They were asked to pay 3,000-5,000 pesos to get their daughter back, but they didn’t have the means to pay.
Authorities are currently investigating whether or not the kidnappers are part of a syndicate, or if they just wanted to take advantage of the child’s parents.
Regardless, the family is thankful that Princess is safe and that she has finally been reunited with her family.
