Mom thanks kind GRAB driver for helping her be there for terminally ill son’s final moments

Anica Espinosa expressed her gratitude to the kind GRAB driver who drove her to the hospital just in time, before her son drew his last breaths

A mom who sadly lost her son due to a terminal illness took to Facebook to share a heartwarming act of kindness.

Anica Espinosa wrote a Facebook tribute post to the kind Grab car driver, Grape Rupon Fernandez who drove her to the hospital in time for her to be there by her son’s side during his last moments. The driver refused to accept payment and even offered words of encouragement, saying :”Ma’m, lakasan niyo lang po ang loob niyo at ok na ako.”

Anica tried but couldn’t find the kind driver on Facebook,  so she wrote a public post instead, in hopes that it would reach him.

“Kuya.. Hinahanap po kita sa FB di po kita ma-search,” she wrote alongside a screengrab of her booking information.

She recalls boarding a Grab Car and once inside, she just broke down in tears and told the driver that her son was in the hospital, fighting for his life.

Throughout her ride, she recalls calling the hospital several times just to make sure she makes it there before Sean passes away. She even asked someone to take a video of Sean’s last moments in case she didn’t make it in time.

Naririnig ng driver ang usapan namin ng kausap ko sa telepono at naramdaman ko na lang si kuya na gusto nyang paliparin ang sasakyan makarating lang ako ng hospital,” wrote Anica, adding how the driver turned on his “hazard” signals and sped up while honking his horn repeatedly, to signal that it was an emergency.

Though they estimated to make it to the hospital in 45 minutes, they managed to make it there in 32 minutes.

Niyakap ko sya at naluha ako na nagpasalamat,” wrote Anica, adding how she ran to the ICU and made it in time. Sean drew his last breaths with his loving mom by his side.

“Salamat Kuyang Driver.

After her post went viral, garnering over 6,000 shares, Anica managed to track down Grape, the kind GRAB driver who’s been lauded by netizens.
