Not too long ago, we shared an article that pokes fun at the struggles of traveling with kids. While the cartoons featured in that post were pretty funny, the fact of the matter is that traveling with kids is difficult. In fact, sometimes it’s more than a parent can bear.
Recently, a pregnant mommy was traveling with her son on a short domestic flight in the US. On the plane–on its way from Minneapolis to Atlanta–the pregnant mother was absolutely exhausted and her son was, as Angela Byrd claims, “fussy and upset.”
It was then that a kindhearted man approached the worn out mother and offered to help her. Byrd, who was aboard the plane and documented the events that transpired, claims that this stranger told the weary mommy “that he was a DAD, and wanted to help her so she could rest. He walked the aisle most of the flight from Minneapolis to Atlanta comforting this woman’s son as if he was his own.”
Byrd’s recollection of the story has since been popularized by the Facebook page Love What Matters, and has gained it’s fair share of spotlight–and for good reason! Just check out this touching imagery from one thoughtful stranger:
“I was in tears…not because he was white and she was black…but because it showed me today that there are still GOOD people out there in a world full of turmoil,” Byrd writes in the caption of her post.
Parents, not just moms, everywhere can relate to the struggles of traveling with kids. But to imagine traveling while pregnant while also trying to keep track of your eldest child brings on stress just picturing it!
That’s probably why the post has gone absolutely viral! Since being re-posted Love What Matters, the picture has been shared nearly 30,ooo times! And there’s no stopping the viral image and its heartwarming message anytime soon!
I guess it just goes to show you that there really are good people out there, and while it may feel like you’re alone along the road of parenthood, your fellow parents can empathize and are always willing to lend a helping hand!
