Whenever we think of martial artists, we usually think of people like Bruce Lee, Donnie Yen, or Jet Li. They act tough, and let their fists do the talking. This martial arts teacher however, isn’t your typical martial artist.
Jason Wilson is the founder of the Cave of Adullam Transformational Training Academy (CATTA), an organization that seeks to help boys and young men become better people and improve their lives through martial arts.
Jason Wilson teaches his students that it is okay to cry
In most societies, seeing a man cry is a sign of weakness. But for Wilson, he sees it not as a sign of weakness, but as a normal thing that everyone goes through whenever a person is going through a difficult time. He doesn’t make his students feel ashamed of crying, and he even uses the situation to teach his students a valuable lesson in life.
Wilson also tells his students that there are things in life that are difficult to do. And regardless of how hard they may be, they need to work hard to overcome those challenges, even if it takes a lot of sweat and tears to overcome. Wilson teaches these lessons along with martial arts using a system he developed which he calls Mūsar Rū.
Kudos to Jason Wilson for teaching his students that it is okay to cry and that it’s nothing to be ashamed of!
