The good news is McDonald’s Kiddie Crew is back, and it’s going digital! While we may still have to wait a bit to see our tots behind McDo’s takeout windows, they can now have the same kind of fun virtually. Starting this coming November, they will have a safe avenue to make new happy memories with their friends—this time in the digital world.
Remember those days when young kids in cute caps and aprons would serve you from behind the McDonald’s counter? They would eagerly wave at you as you make your way through the drive-thru. Kids participating as McDonald’s Kiddie Crew was one of those sights we’ve grown accustomed to each year. But when the pandemic hit, this, along with other in-person activities we’ve come to love, was put on hold last year.
How it started
Did you know how that the McDo Kiddie Crew Workshop has been around for 29 years already? The first McDonald’s store located in Morayta, Manila, opened in 1981. The fast-food chain quickly grew across the country, and 10 years later in 1991, the McDo Kiddie Crew Workshop was born.
The annual summer program of the brand is the first of its kind in the country. To this day, it continues to be part of many youngsters’ memories as they grow up. Through this workshop, these kiddos learn all the fun things that make up McDonald’s. Aside from being the first in the country, it’s also one-of-a-kind because it’s also only done here exclusively in the Philippines. With McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop, kids get a feel of McDonald’s culture infused with Filipino values.
What’s in store for McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop this year?
Your kids can now be part of this McDonald’s tradition once again. The theme for this year’s workshop is Create 2021. Kids five to 12 years old can take a tour inside a virtual McDonald’s restaurant replete with all the things you can expect in your favorite McDo branch. This virtual McDonald’s store feels like you’re stepping foot in a real one—from the signature yellow arches, red and yellow balloons, food counters, in-store playground, crafts and party area, and even McCafe!
The two-day online workshop is packed with activities that promote different values that includes Discipline, Hard Work, Active Play, Teamwork, Sharing and Responsibility. For starters, kids will learn the Kiddie Crew Anthem and bust their moves in the Ronald Dance. There’s nothing like letting loose through movement, right?
Of course, it wouldn’t be a McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop without some cool games. Your youngsters can join the McDo digital games, too. And for those who love crafts, McDonald’s definitely has something in store for them, with their crafts activities. Kiddos can unleash their inner artists and have a blast creating crafts with their favorite McDo
characters.
