Founded in Brazil in 1979, Melissa shoes soon became the go-to brand for ladies who want stylish comfort in various colors and styles. The brand is best-known for its line of ballet flats that offer a fun, dainty way to traipse through the city in a chic outfit of your choice. Through the years, Melissa has evolved the brand and introduced a whole range of styles to suit the different lifestyles of women who want to combine fashion and functionality.

This season, Melissa launches its Mirror collection to offer a wide variety of fashion footwear choices while harnessing the same design philosophy of creating fun and functional footwear using sustainable materials.  The Mirror collection is composed of a wide variety of styles, from sandals that are perfect for strolling down the streets or smart sneakers with the brand’s colourful take on the classic design.

Setting trends

Taking cues from the latest trends, Melissa’s fashion forward designs are inspired by the 90s.  This season, Mirror includes shoes that bring back fond memories of the jelly shoes that were all the rage in the teen-centered decade with the Possession Babouche, Disco, Soft, and Francxs shoes that are updated for a sleeker look to pair with the wardrobes of today.

As Melissa has become the go-to for cute footwear, huge hearts come into vogue with the Big Heart sandal line that also comes in metallic options with the Big Heart Chrome. Ladies who opt to wear closed shoes at the office can still carry off the heartfelt lines with Melissa’s Pointy Heart flats.

Switch it up and hop on a top trend seen this season with the Melissa Papete + Rider adjustable sandals. A design sometimes referred to as a “tourist sandal”, gear up your feet and stretch your legs as it takes you on a comfortable stride down the Metro’s bustling streets or maybe even take you on a bit of light trekking through terrains.

For a look that fits right into the rainy season in the city, Melissa has Line sneakers and the urban-chic Ulitsa Sneaker Platform along with the Be Babouche slides and Twist mules that bring splashes of color to sudden downpours.
