A woman from Bacolod city tried to sell her own 7-year-old daughter for sex, according to reports.
Six minors and an 18-year-old were also rescued
The woman, 35, was arrested during a sting operation conducted by the Bacolod City police, after the woman was reported to have tried to sell her daughter for sex online, to someone posing as a Dutch national.
Her daughter was rescued in their home, while the mother was arrested by the police.
Additionally, six minors and an 18-year old were also rescued by the police in the suspect’s home, which means that the suspect might have been trafficking minors for a while now.
She will be facing numerous charges
According to police Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, the victims were living next door right beside the suspect’s house. They are now under the protective custody of the DSWD.
Meanwhile, the suspect will be facing charges for violating numerous laws regarding the protection of children against child abuse and exploitation and also violating the Cybercrime Prevention Act and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.
The suspect is currently detained by the Bacolod City police.
