Mother dies while saving her 4 children from flood

The mother-of-four sadly passed away while she was trying to save her children from the raging floodwaters in Silang, Cavite.

Mothers are truly selfless, even going so far as to risk their own lives in order to save their children if needed. Sadly, one mother passed away while she was trying to save her 4 children from a flood.

She tried to save her 4 children

According to Trixia Flores of the Cavite Office of Public Safety (COPS), 42-year-old Rossie Nasayao drowned after she tried to save her 4 children from the flood that happened as a result of 3 landslides that happened during the height of tropical storm Maring. Her family was reportedly living in shanties in Barangay Biluso in Silang, Cavite.

Her body was swept away and was later found in a river in Barangay San Agustin II in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

A 3-year-old died in Laguna

According to reports from COPS and the Police Provincial Office (PPO), there were multiple landslides that happened on Monday night up to dawn on Tuesday.

The PPO also reported that a family of 5 was taken to a nearby hospital after suffering from injuries after they were hit by a landslide in Carmona, Rizal.

Meanwhile, in Laguna, 3-year-old Franzine Jhane Monge went missing as their home was swept away by raging floodwaters. The toddler’s body was identified by her father and was retrieved at Laguna Lake.

Always keep safe

In light of the tragic deaths that happened as a result of tropical storm Maring, it’s important for parents to always make sure that their family is safe in the event of a flood.

Having an evacuation plan, as well as being alert and listening closely to any landslide, flood, or storm warnings on the radio can help parents prepare for anything that can happen during a storm.

If you live in a flood prone or landslide-prone area, it’s better to have an evacuation plan or evacuate early in order to avoid any disasters that can potentially happen during a strong storm.
