Spending Mother's Day on a budget

Just because you're on a budget doesn't mean that you can't give your mom an amazing mother's day! Here are some great ideas!

These days, it’s very important to be smart with our money. However, it doesn’t mean that we should skip on celebrations so that we can save.

Here are some great ideas on how to spend Mother’s Day on a budget!

1. Instead of going to a fancy restaurant, go to a park and have a picnic!

There are lots of parks that you can take your family to this coming mother’s day! You can prepare some food in advance, put it in a picnic basket, bring some drinks, and head off to a nice park to have a wonderful picnic!

The great thing is that there are a lot of parks in Metro Manila which have been restored and are now well-maintained, so you’ll have a wonderful and memorable Mother’s Day celebration!

2. Prepare a nice dinner at home

Some moms would actually prefer to just stay at home and be with their family on Mother’s Day. So why not try and make it more special by cooking them a nice dinner of their favorite food at home?

Just make sure to wash the dishes yourself afterwards!

3. Stay at home and watch a movie

With the abundance of cheap DVDs and online movie sites such as Netflix, you can have a movie night at home and let your mom pick which movies you’re going to watch. To complete the experience, why not grab some microwave popcorn and prepare some snacks?

4. Serve them breakfast in bed

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not make it much more special by giving your mom a delicious breakfast in bed? It’s a great way to start off their day, and they’ll surely appreciate you for the effort!

5. Give them a handmade gift card!

Sometimes, the simplest gifts can be the most meaningful. A simple card with a heartfelt message can really make your mother feel loved.

You can even make it more creative by adding photos of you and your mom, or by making a scrapbook of your memories.
