January 27, 2015 when I gave birth to my youngest daughter via emergency caesarean section. I was already hypertensive prior to my pregnancy kaya naman hindi ko pinapalampas ang bawat check up ko sa OB.
I remember her being worried kung paano kaya namin mapapaabot si baby sa 38 weeks. I was advised to monitor my blood pressure multiple times a day at random time and had it recorded for references whenever I visit my doctor with the maintenance meds to control my blood pressure.
Of course, laboratory tests were also done when needed. It was a hard journey of pregnancy, with the meds and vitamins that I need to take, and being worried with my risky health condition. Good thing that my doctor assured me that I can reach her anytime.
Time came and I was referred for an ultrasound, the results were normal but my doctor got worried with the note indicating that baby’s heartbeat is rising when stimulated. I was again advised to go to the hospital for a heartbeat monitoring for baby, and the result, hindi na ako pinauwi ni doktora, diretso admit na.
I was injected with a medicine twice na sobrang sakit at nagdidilim ang paningin sa sobrang init sa pakiramdam. It was a medicine to avoid convulsion if ever tumaas ang aking blood pressure during my labor.
Nakiusap ako na gusto kong i-normal delivery si baby at pumayag naman si Dra. She induced me and waited until magtuloy-tuloy na ang contraction. Ok naman at first yung labor ko at mabilis bumaba si baby but unfortunately, I was stuck at 8 cm kaya naman naging emergency CS na.
Though sobrang liit at payat ni baby (weighing only 2500 grams), I am still thankful because we were both fine, with the assurance na “a child like her is a fighter because she had been fighting up for us ever since the conception.”
Now, that tiny baby is now turning into a fine little lady and we love being her as part of our family.
