“You are pregnant and you are powerful. You are bold and you are beautiful. Go forward in your boldness, in your beauty and in your contentedness. Trust your body to birth and know that the collective power of women worldwide will be with you.” — Unknown

Pregnancy is a wonderful, exciting, frightening and often joyous time and experience in a woman’s life. In other words, a roller coaster of mixed emotions. Just like the first time I found out I was pregnant. It was indeed a whirlwind of emotions for me.

Despite the 3 positive pregnancy test kit waving at my face, I still couldn’t believe I was pregnant. Imagine being the only child in your household to finish a degree and your parents are expecting you to help your siblings and provide for your family. You really wouldn’t believe it was happening. Not until hearing your baby’s heartbeat for the first time, it makes you realize it was freaking real!

It is now dawning on me that I am on my way to the journey of motherhood.

The first few months for me were the hardest. Morning sickness sucks. I can barely eat and drink. Everything around me makes me vomit all whatever food that I even barely put in my stomach.

I almost cried whenever it happens. Not to mention the consecutive days and nights of having acid reflux, heartburn and the feeling of bloatedness. This whole morning sickness makes me extremely tired. But thinking that it will just last for a few months and having a caring partner by my side makes it somehow bearable for me.

But all the struggles in the first few months of pregnancy will all be worth it the moment you hear your baby’s heartbeat. And, of course, for me, the most wonderful part of being pregnant is feeling your baby’s every movement! I always look forward to his little kicks that eventually turn into a strong movement inside my tummy.

Pregnancy at first was a bit challenging, but eventually everything will be alright. You just have to stay strong for both you and your baby. We just have to strengthen our faith.

All the pains, struggles, and whirlwind of emotions will be worth it once you bring out your tiny little human in this world who will bring you and your family lots of love and happiness.
