Nadine Lustre breaks silence following brother's death

"I'm gonna miss your face and miss hearing your corny jokes. I wish you stayed with us longer," Nadine

On Friday (October 13), actress Nadine Lustre posted a message for her late brother Isaiah, who died of apparent suicide.

An emotional 23-year-old Kapamilya star posted on Instagram photos of her brother with a letter she wrote for what was supposed to be his 17th birthday.

“I’m so proud of you. [I] never knew you had such talent with words. I’m happy to have read all of your entries and discover that you have such a beautiful mind,” Nadine wrote. She also posted a link to her brother’s brother’s blog on Medium.

“I’m gonna miss your face and miss hearing your corny jokes. I wish you stayed with us longer,” Nadine added.

Nadine Lustre’s brother dies of apparent suicide

On October 8, the younger Lustre was found lifeless in their Quezon City home. He was 16.

CNN reports that police found an empty shell from a .38 caliber gun and that the Lustre family did not grant the QCPD’s request for an investigation because they were certain the teen had taken his own life just days before his birthday.

“Happy Birthday, Dude.”

Despite not directly addressing reports of her brother’s passing, Nadine took to social media to post a message for her brother who would have turned 17.

“I am keeping my promise and we will still travel the world together. No more crying,” Nadine wrote, ending her note with a greeting: “Happy Birthday, Dude.”

Our deepest sympathies go out to the Lustre family in this tragic time.
