Do you need a full-time or a part-time maid?

Having a maid entails a lot of responsibilities, and there are significant differences between having a full-time and a part-time maid. So how can you tell which is the best for you? Just follow these tips!

Having a maid entails a lot of responsibilities, and there are significant differences between having a full-time and a part-time maid. So how can you tell which is the best for you? Just follow these tips!

1. Figure out what you need help with

Assess your situation at home. Do you need help with your kids, or are you just having issues with housework such as doing the laundry or ironing clothes? If the things that you need help with are mostly for tasks that don’t have to be done everyday, then you should look towards hiring a part-time maid.

2. Are you ready for the responsibility?

Having a full time maid is an added responsibility since you would have to provide them a good living space, as well as food. They’ll also live under your home, so you will need to be very particular in choosing the person that you’ll be hiring. Part-time maids on the other hand, are easier to manage but they won’t always be there.

3. Would your family be okay with having a full-time maid in the house?

Another thing would be to ask yourself if your family would be fine with your decision should you decide to hire a full-time maid. They would also be living with your maid, so they would need to get along with the person that you’ll be hiring. It’s best to consult your family as well and ask them what they think.

4. Are you financially prepared?

Depending on your location, it can get pretty expensive hiring a maid. So ask yourself, are you financially stable enough to handle all the costs and allowances that having a full-time maid requires? In some cases you’ll be better off hiring a part-time maid and then doing the other chores yourself or with your family.
