New Zealand, COVID-free na!

"Catching up on some letters from kids. This one was pretty lovely “the rock that I have gave you is a special rock...it will keep you safe if you feel unsafe” That rock is going straight to the office."

"Kids ask a lot of questions most of the time, and right now they understandably have plenty about COVID-19. That’s why we put on a press conference just for children and their questions. I had Dr Siouxsie Wiles and Dr Michelle Dickinson along to help. We’ll pop the video up soon - I hope it will be a useful resource to help answer some of the questions from the young people in your life."

"Today I learned how to play a game called “fruit salad” without crushing any children. I also learned that Mana Ake, a mental health and well being programme we put into primary and intermediate schools in Canterbury is making a huge difference, and that our policy to boost school funding so parents don’t have to pay school donations meant that this school could provide uniforms for free. It was a big day. (PS for the latest COVID-19 update, please pop over to my Facebook page)."

"Without question this is one of the best parts of my job - letters from children. I seriously underestimated how many there would be, but I still read every single one. This Children’s Day I want to say thanks to the hundreds and hundreds of kids who believe in the simple power of a letter (and drawing!) No matter how many years pass, I hope they all hold onto that belief that they can make a difference....because they already do."

"While the job is not done, there is no denying this is a milestone. So can I finish with a very simple, 'Thank you, New Zealand'."

Dagdag ni PM Ardern, "will certainly see cases again. Elimination is not a point in time, it is a sustained effort".
