From being no boyfriend since birth to having the love of my life
I never had a boyfriend nor engaged in any kind of fling or romantic relationship SINCE BIRTH. Yes, I was NBSB (no boyfriend since birth) for 26 years until I met my husband.
Okay! this is how we began… during late 2017 a guy handed me Christian books and 2 Life Save Watches in pink and green, he told me he wants to be a blessing and he wanted to bless me with those parcels.
Then I accepted it. We started to become acquaintances in our fellowship group in the office and I found out he is a Pastor’s kid. His words are deep, his beliefs are remarkable and his faith is just so incredible…none of them impacted me so much, only his testimony about his mother’s journey to success that comes with faith.
Our acquaintanceship wasn’t that continuous since I really don’t get along with guys – “Manang nga kasi ako”. We seldom text or talk, only had the chance to get along during fellowship services and outreach programs. No string attached, NOTHING. But I knew that he wanted to have a deeper friendship with me.
Until 2019, we started going to Christian concerts – Planetshakers, Hillsong, Don Moen, and Papuri! Every time I was with him, I feel safe, happy, and blessed.
I don’t know, I just felt that way. One day, I told him that I appreciate him so much and thought to enter the next level of relationship with him, but I got rejected…REALLY!!!
He told me 3 things before entering into a godly relationship:
1. Pray – pray without ceasing for your partner and your relationship.
2. Friendship – know each other deeply because entering a relationship is not a game that you can give up anytime, and do it all over again.
3. Communication – bond, talk and share your lives.
I got embarrassed cause that was my first rejection and I don’t know what to do, what to say… kahiya!
It is just one day that I started praying for him. Praying to God that I will wait for him until he is ready for me, but because I can’t move on from his rejection.
I stopped communicating with him (but I was continually praying to God for a man of my life), until he got reconnected with me and started going out and bonding.

The year 2020, and YES! When the covid 19 pandemic started in March, we confessed our feelings to each other. In the midst of sickness, death, and lockdown.
I got the man that I have been praying for. He told me that he was also praying for me wherever he’s been… in the car, during his travels, and in his bedtime.
He reminded me of the 3 important things he told me before getting into a godly relationship – PRAY, FRIENDSHIP, AND COMMUNICATION.
A year after, we got married, and after 4 months, we are expecting to build a family by having a life in my womb. Truly, God is in the midst of everything.
When you wait and live according to his will, you will receive his grace and promises. He proved to me Ecc.3, that everything is beautiful in His time, and I am living it.
How my husband takes care of me and loves me so much is God’s way of rewarding me that treasures take time to receive… just take your faith with you and live all the else to God.
My husband is the first and last man of my life.
