Thanks mom, for raising me well even though you had to do it alone

Compared to everything you had to put up with, I don't think a thank you is enough. But I'm saying it anyway.

Thank you -- two simple words that I admittedly don't say enough to you.

Compared to everything you had to put up with and the weight of all the baggage you had to carry just for me, I don't think it will ever be enough, mom. But, this is me saying it anyway. Thank you.

Open letter to single moms

Now that I'm a little older and I somehow understand how the world works, one thing remains a mystery to me -- how were you able to do all that, mom? As years went by, I didn't get answers, but I grew more amazed by you.

Our life wasn't easy, but given the chance, I would choose this life over and over as long as I get the same mom.

You are my rock and motivation. I guess it's true that behind every successful person is a strong mom. Though I wouldn't call myself successful just yet, knowing that I have a very strong mom gives me the reassurance that I'll get there someday.

Mom, know that the things that held us back before are the same things that keeps me going now. Your sacrifices are not in vain. Though you love us unconditionally and your efforts will be hard to repay, I'll do my best to at least try.

You deserve a million thank yous, but most of all -- you deserve to see your hardwork pay off.

Some people might have looked down on you, but don't listen to them, we know all the reasons why you should keep your chin up.

You have shown me how important it is to have a few good people on your side and I firmly believe that you just attract what you are. Because you are a good person, God placed good people around us as well -- making this journey of yours more bearable.

The rocky parts of your journey that I vaguely remember, probably still weighs you down every now and then. I can only imagine how hard it was for you.

You always tell me, "good job, anak" whenever I achieve something, but I don't think I have ever returned the compliment. So if you don't already know, you did the most amazing job, mom.

I may not be the perfect daughter, but thank you for raising me well.

Our relationship might not be the most ideal. You've always been lenient with me and you let me decide for myself. To some people discipline comes off differently, but your trust is the reason I became confident.

The thing is, I never felt that you left my side when I was taking hard steps. You were always behind me, waiting for me to ask for your help. You cheer for me on the sidelines and cheer me up when things don't go my way.

In tough times, you console me without telling me not to feel sad. You let me sulk for a few days because you understood how I felt. But your constant reassurance helps me get back to my feet.

Mom, I might not be the smartest or most talented kid out there, but thank you for raising me well. I hope it was rewarding to see me go through these phases.

This Mother's day, we honor all of you

This is an open letter to all of the single moms. I know it's not an easy ride, but hang in there. Someday, your kids will thank you too.

For now, give yourself a pat on the back because you are doing great! Despite your shortcomings, acknowledge your progress. Don't be too hard on yourself, believe that you will get there.

Happy mother's day!
