“For me, it was, I’m so happy that I have this one baby, but I lost two,” said Kellee. “I just kept imagining these three little kiddos.”
Mrs Briggs marks the moment as one most heartbreaking experiences in her life. According to her, she keeps wondering what her two kids would be like if they survived.
“Would they be girls? Boys? I just didn’t know. It was heartbreaking to think about the what would be and also being happy about the what is,” she added.
Despite the pain, Mrs Briggs chose to focus on the baby that survived. Months after the couple’s heartbreaking experience, the Briggs couple welcomed their first son, Chase.

- Genes
- Age
- Previous multiple pregnancies
- Ovulation-stimulation medicine

Risks Associated With Triplet Pregnancies
Most mums often fear being pregnant with more than one baby. Because of its rareness, multiple pregnancies come with several risks for both the mum and the babies. Below is a list of dangers related to these type of births.
- Newborn complications
- Premature birth – the greatest risk of carrying triplets is when the babies are born prematurely.
- Delivery – many triplet pregnancies end in a cesarean section for the safety of both the mother and the babies. Meanwhile, the probability of a vaginal delivery depends on each baby’s size, position, and health.
- Placenta – it may provide imbalanced nutrients to each baby.
- Preeclampsia – when the woman’s blood pressure gets too high during pregnancy, it puts them at risk for seizures. Symptoms include high blood pressure, protein in the urine, swelling, headaches, changes in vision, nausea, abdominal pain, and trouble breathing.
- Gestational Diabetes – gestational diabetes is very common in women with triplet pregnancies.
